I got this to use for my baby's first few months instead of a co-sleeper. The price was better, its the right height for being next to the bed and easy to move through doors. Also, the Marlow pattern was neutral enough for a boy or a girl. I did not like the sheets that were made for it (too thin, not soft) and I didn't think the mattress that it comes with was cushioned enough. So I bought a little bassinet mattress (Summer's, I think) from Baby's R Us and put a 400 count pillowcase over that. The dimensions worked perfectly. The only problem I see is that the middle has already started to sag and my baby only weighs 8 lbs right now.

This travel crib was so handy for the first 3 months. My baby slept in this right next to my bed, and then during the day I could easily roll this into another room to keep an eye on her...even with her in it, which she seemed to enjoy. I was a little concerned about the bumpers that are not removable, since they say not to have bumpers in cribs, but she never got her face up against them. There is mesh at the bottom inch of the bumper, but I would have preferred it to go up higher just in case. I would definitely recommend this and was so thankful to have it until my daughter was ready for her crib.

I was lamenting over having to check my pack'n'play through baggage claim on a recent trip (I was worried that it would be damaged) so I was really happy to find this as an alternative. I was able to fit it in my suitcase which is fantastic when you are already traveling with so much baby gear in this day and age of extra bag fees. It worked great for my 4-1/2 month old although a week or two later I don't think I would have been able to use it anymore because she got really squirmy and strong. It is a cinch to unfold even with a baby in one arm. The sides are soft and floppy but the toy bar gives quite a bit of stability. It was great to be able to have her safely on the floor without having to worry about her and she slept really well in it. I am lending it to a friend who is taking her baby on a trip in a few weeks and she too is thrilled that she won't have to bring a pack'n'play.

Our newborn wouldn't sleep for more than a few minutes in this travel bed, while she zonks out in our bed or her bassinet at home. We suspect it's because of the dual crease in the middle of the mattress, which couldn't be straightened out by smoothing the cover or by adjusting the velcro hold-downs beneath the mattress. It takes some effort to fold the bed, too, especially when it comes to finding just the right spot for the toy arch. While it's clear that the toy arch is not a handle, this is not intuitively obvious to parents of newborns who are addled by sleep deprivation. It looks like a handle, it feels like a handle ... but it won't even support the weight of the empty travel bed if you want to move it. It would be nice if you could pick up and move the empty bed one-handed while holding your newborn in the other, but this is not possible: you have to put the kid down somewhere else, use both hands to move the empty bed and then pick up the kid again before putting him or her to bed. You need the toy arch to keep the sides from flopping outward, but then it just gets in your way. Not a great design.

Whether used as a transition to a big bed, sleepovers or travel, the Toddler Travel Bed- the Tuckaire Toddler, might just be the perfect solution. Designed so that normal sized crib sheets tuck into the inner mattress perfectly it's a breeze to make the bed. The PVC material doesn't have that toxic smell that is often associated with newly produced plastic products. The bed comes with an electric pump to make inflation and deflation a snap which is really important because if it took too long or too much effort you just wouldn't bother pulling it out. Parents said just the opposite with this bed. The Tuckaire Toddler Travel Bed received the 2009 National Parenting Seal of Approval. Includes a high pressure electric pump.

In general this is a great little bed. I love the fact it comes with its own inflater and fits crib sheets. Anything to make my life easier. We got it for our son to sleep in at grandma and grandpa's, since he no longer fits in a pac'n'play. It seemed to be comfortable for him, and he slept relatively well.

My only con involves the side rails. Could they not have put a TOP rail on too? For my son at least, he's more likely to scooch up than roll over. Since I had no convenient corner to wedge the bed into, I had to haul him back into his mattress in the middle of the night because he'd inched his way over the top and his head was on the floor. If you DO have a corner to tuck the bed into, it will work much better.

Comes compact in a nice carrying bag. Sets up quickly, breaks down relatively quickly. Our toddler loved it and slept well on it. If your child thrashes around a lot, this might not be the best bed (nor any other travel bed for that matter). But if they stay mostly in place, it works like a dream. You can adjust its softness by how much air you put in. It's easy to let out bursts of air w/ your finger if you want to make it softer. I recommend doing this with your child on the bed.
